Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Plate, earthenware, circular shape, tapering foot-rim with incised ring around it, curving sides and spreading rim with a further incised ring halfway up the exterior sides; transfer-printed in black with the 'Swan' pattern, a swan-like bird swims on an expanse of water with a fountain to one side and another bird flying above it, roccoco sprays of flowers, foliage and elaborate scrolls to either side of the scene, perforated ribbon border to the rim interspersed with sprays of flowers and scrolls and issuing sprays of flowers and foliage, the plate badly cracked and held together with staples.
