Goffering iron
Goffering iron, with a rounded head on a copper stem, square in section, with notched decoration and flattened, pierced heart-shaped terminal.
The iron would have been heated in the fire and inserted into a goffering iron stand, also known as an Italian (or tally iron) to create frills and ruffles.
