Pardoe, Thomas (1770-1823)
Plate of soft-paste porcelain with creamy-white translucency; standing on a tapering foot rim, with cushion-moulded and slightly curved sides; a lobed rim (six large and six small lobes), moulded in relief with scrolls, flowers and tied ribbons; the edge of the well moulded with six grooves. Painted with a sketchy tiger lying down in a landscape; round the edge of the well, an elaborate gilt border with flower heads in hexagons and honeysuckle motifs; the rim edged in gilt and decorated in gilt with three pairs of crossed arrows and three hunting horns crossed with spears.
