Dessert dish, rectangular, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain with a green translucency; standing on a shaped rectangular foot rim, curving into rounded, flared sides; a shaped lip, each edge consisting of two concave curves, with rounded, notched corners; twig handles with raised foliate terminals; decorated with set pattern 164, or the 'Mandarin' pattern; transfer-printed and infilled with enamels, in the 'famille rose' palette - a village scene of a seated mandarin and others in front of an oriental house; a gilt scrolled border with small cartouches of landscapes in iron red alternating with larger cartouches of birds perched on branches, against a grey blue sky, above purple trees; gilt handles.
