Roman copper alloy bracelet

he bracelet is incomplete, missing one terminal. It comprises a copper alloy strip of oval penannular form (with an external length of 66.8mm and a height of 50.6mm and of maximum internal width of 61.8mm). The Bracelet is concave across its width and flat on the rear (producing a maximum thickness of 3.2mm at the edges), with straight near-parallel sides (12.3mm wide) and with a slightly expanded terminal. The surviving terminal is square ended (with a width of 13.4mm). The decoration is confined to area from the widest part of the bracelet to the terminals, where a decorative rectangular strip has been applied to the centre of the concave area. The strip (35mm long and 2mm wide) contains a series of interlinked punched ovals in sunken relief. Either side of the ovals are recessed chevrons. There is the suggestion that the beginning of the strip is marked by three punched C-shaped marks around the strip. The surface of the bracelet has a pale to mid green patina with areas of brown surface loss.
