JOHN, Gwen (Bu Gwen John yn mynychu Ysgol Gelfyddyd Gain y Slade yn Llundain rhwng 1895 a 1898, a bu'n astudio am gyfnod byr ym Mharis. Mademoiselle Pouvereau was a Meudon parishioner, who Gwen John mentioned in a letter. This image has been traditionally identified as her and is one of several works of the same composition. John probably executed the drawing in church and worked the image up with watercolour and bodycolour in the studio.
