Handcuffs
Purchased at Penrhyn Old Hall Sale January 1918 and offered to the National Museum. Part of a collection of "relics" collected by M.J. Morris of Caernarfon which were displayed at "The Museum", a room in Penrhyn Old Hall when owned by Booth Jones, who opened the hall to the public. After his death on the Lusitania, the collection was sold in January 1918. The building was also sold and reverted to being a private residence.
"Leading" handcuffs consisting of 2 wrist loops held together by a large rivet. The larger loop, for the prisoner's wrist, closes completely with a clasp. The smaller loop, for the police officer's wrist, remains slightly open
