Roman copper alloy Polden Hill brooch
The side wings are onamented with ridged vertical mouldings, the inner of which have traces of knurling. To either side of the head of the bow are semi circular mouldings which are carried underneath the bow to produce a slight thickening to the rear underneath the spring arrangement. Below the chord loop, the head of the bow is ornamented with a light ridge notched at the top to give a beaded effect. The lower part of the bow and the catchplate are lost.
