Medieval pottery jug
Jug in sandy orange-light brown fabric with thick grey core. The outer surface has a thick lead green glaze, which appears to have run in places. The strap handle is decorated with stabbing, which has been cleverly used to help attach it.

Notes: This represents a collection of old finds presented to NMGW by the Marquess of Bute in 1964. They purport to come from Cardiff Castle and the religious houses of Blackfriars and Greyfriars.
