Pot, ale
Alepot, fawn-coloured stoneware body, the body globular with moulded and incised decoration, the neck cylindrical with a band of applied relief-moulded masks and heart-shaped cartouches, the silver mounts comprising a foot band with stamped and milled ornamentation, a domed lid with a rayed disc and finial and chased with lion masks and fruit, a cast thumbpiece in the form of a mermaid holding a cornucopia, a collar chased with masks and heart-shaped cartouches to match the neck, and an engraved handle mount terminating in a spined leaf.
