Roman copper alloy headstud brooch
A socket for a large headstud lies close to the top of the bow. Below this nine rectangles of yellow, red and blue/green enamel separated by copper alloy 'walls' ornament the bow, which tapered slightly towards the centre, widening out again towards the moulded projecting foot. The present pin is clearly a replacement.
