Evans & Glasson, Cambrian Pottery (1851 - 1862)
Plate, earthenware, circular shape, rounded foot-rim with an incised ring and a raised ridge around it, cushion-moulded sides and spreading rim, eight raised ribs run from the edge of the rim to the edge of the well; transfer-printed in black and overpainted in puce, green, yellow and blue with to the centre of the well an oriental fence pattern, an oriental fence emerges from a background of rocks and branches of oriental flowers and foliage, border to the rim spreading down the sides of the well of large sprays of flowers and foliage, border to the outer rim of an ovular pattern overpainted in yellow and interspersed with blue flower heads, whole of body is 'tinselled' with a lustrous metallic wash.
