Board of trade continuous certificate of discharge
Navy blue card booklet with Board of Trade badge and title in silver on front cover. Two oblongs cut out of cover with see through plastic attached to show surname and service number - 876996 - that are handwritten on first page. Biographical details at front along with discharge details handwritten in ink inside and stamped information, for years 1937 - 1939. B & W photo of James on back page. Also included is a brown envelope addressed to the Registrar General of Shipping and Seaman, Tower Hill, London, stamped 28 Feb 1940.
