Plate, hard-paste porcelain, short foot-rim and curving spreading sides; the well transfer-printed in brown against a dark ground with a scene showing three figures in a garden setting, a broad gilt band around the sides of the well, the rim printed in outline and painted in enamels with a vine border, a gilt band around the edge of the rim.
