Roman samian bowl
The profile has a marked carination. The upper zone is a scroll with spirals, rosettes and a five-lobed tuft of leaves: there is a middle frieze of triple leaves with a wavy line below. The upper zone of Dannell 1971, no. 22, fig. 128, is similar, as is Knorr 1952, Taf. 44, A (OFMVRRANI). The general scheme of decoration may be compared with Knorr 1919, Taf. 63, C (OF PASSENI), and this is probably fairly close in date to our piece.
