Plate, soup
Soup-plate, thickly potted pale buff coloured earthenware, circular shape with inset base, short curving sides and spreading rim; covered all over with a blue tinged white tin-glaze, this then painted in dark blue with to the centre of the well a stylized Chinese-style scene with a fence in the foreground and large spreading sprays of flowers and foliage behind, several blue bands around the sides of the well, border to the rim of stylized foliate motifs enclosed between two blue bands, the glaze slightly worn around the edge of the well.
