Vase

Haynes, Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1802 - 1810)

Vase and cover, triangular plinth with chamfered corners and concave outline, sides panelled, upper sides fluted and inverted. At each corner a shaped block pillar terminating in a lion mask with a ring in its mouth. Pillars supporting a tall wheel-thrown bowl, with a pendant acorn boss, and a band of silver lustre resist decoration of fruiting vines above lions' heads. Reversible cover, one side domed with a flowerhead (sunflower?) knop, the other with rising concave sides terminating in a broken candle holder. The whole shaded blue and silver.
