Vernet (Provençal Landscape)
Artist: INNES, James Dickson (1887-1914)
Vernet-les-Baines is a town on the slopes of Mount Canigou. This picture is based on a watercolour painted during a visit in the winter of 1912. Vernet is a spa, and Innes probably went there to recuperate after collapsing at Galway Races the previous September.
