Answer book
One of three Welsh Folk Museum Answer Books (See MS 1842/9-10) received from Tom Owen, Llanllechid, Caernarvonshire, containing notes on humour amoung slate workers and aspects of local history. Answer Books were sent out by the Welsh Folk Museum to individuals across Wales as a way of collecting and documenting information on aspects of folk culture in their areas, including agriculture, crafts, food, customs and dialects. The responses were hand-written in the books. The Answer Books had a similar purpose to the earlier questionnaires sent out in 1937.
