Medieval / Post-Medieval pottery jug
jug or pitcher in thin orange-red fabric with occasional rock inclusions. The outer surface has a white slip beneath a light green glaze, down to the shoulder. The glaze appears brown where it is coated beneath the slipped area. There is the slightest trace that glaze ends at this band. The interior of the vessel show signs that the glaze has run inside, it also appears burnt.

Notes: This represents a collection of old finds presented to NMGW by the Marquess of Bute in 1964. They purport to come from Cardiff Castle and the religious houses of Blackfriars and Greyfriars.
