Medieval pottery jug
Part of a jug with applied 'strawberries'. The fabric is fawn with a grey core. The applied design has been smoothed off round the edge, largely removing an outer circle of 'pips'. The raised 'strawberries' appear brown against the mottled green of the rest of the vessel, perhaps because a different clay was used for them. Later 13th-earlier 14th century.
