Grand Hall
Our iconic Grand Hall is the beating heart of National Museum Cardiff. With its beautiful marble pillars, classical architecture and stunning domed ceiling, it’s hard to find a grander setting for any event in the Welsh capital.
Operating as the main hub of activity during the Museum’s opening hours, outside of hours the space transforms into our largest and most adaptable event-hosting space.
Ideal for hosting gala dinners, awards ceremonies and large receptions, and has space for a dancefloor. Staging set-ups, conference exhibitors and even silent discos are all housed elegantly.
The Grand Hall pairs wonderfully with hiring our Modernist and Impressionist Galleries.
Capacity ranges from 270 for a seated dinner, 300 for a theatre-style layout or 400 standing. Our venue is fully accessible by ramp through the main doors with lifts to each level, including to the bathrooms.
Talk to us about any bespoke event touches, whether brand colour lighting, AV set-ups, PA systems or bringing in space dressing, and to find out more about catering options.
The Grand Hall comfortably accommodates a wide range of event entertainment, including choirs, classical artists, bands, aerial dancers and more. Speak to our expert team for recommendations.
Clients who’ve previously enjoyed evenings in our galleries include Knights Brown Construction, Vodafone Business and Celtic English Academy.
Exclusive venue hire pricing starts from £3,900 + VAT. Catering packages sold separately. Get in touch with our dedicated events team to receive a quote for your event needs.
