Museum Workshop

Explore the Moon!

🔍 Discover and Explore

Have you ever looked up at the Moon? Why does the Moon appear to change? Pupils will explore the phases of the Moon, imagine the journey to its surface, and find out what would it be like to visit and what astronauts have found there.

✏️ Take Part

Join in with a simple demonstration of the phases of the Moon. Study and discuss photos from the Apollo missions on which the Museum’s Moon rock was collected. Handle and identify real meteorites and other rocks that can be found on the Moon! Use simple grid references to locate lunar samples – just like the Apollo astronauts.
