St Fagans National Museum of History have today announced a partnership with BBC Horizons and Tafwyl to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the St Fagans Food Festival.

The Museum will come alive with live music performances from some of Wales’ rising stars on 7th and 8th September.

 In addition to a host of food, drink and craft stalls, there will also be a schedule of exciting live performances in a number of the Museum’s historic buildings.

 Mared Maggs, Head of Events, Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales said:

“This is an exciting anniversary year for St Fagans Food Festival as we celebrate the event’s 10th   instalment. What better way to mark the occasion than to collaborate with Tafwyl and BBC Horizons curating performances from some of Wales’ best musical talent?”

 Bethan Elfyn, BBC Horizons Manager said:

“We’re looking forward to bringing music to St Fagans and seeing the unique setting come alive with the sound of contemporary Wales. We’re excited to celebrate Wales’ contemporary culture alongside its history.

This year, there will be new stages in Llys Llywelyn, on Gwalia Green, an area in the woodland and St Teilo’s Church. It will be a special weekend to treasure.”

 Aled Wyn Phillips of Tafwyl said:

“We’re very excited to work with St Fagans and BBC Horizons on a festival which is iconic and unique. This is a brilliant opportunity for us to increase Tafwyl’s visibility and introduce some of Wales’ best contemporary music to new audiences.”

As well as a programme of music, visitors to St Fagans Food Festival can taste and buy produce from more than 80 stalls nestling amongst the Museum’s re-constructed buildings and buy bread and cakes baked in the Museum’s own bakehouse.

From traditional Welsh fare to delicious street food, here are a few of the stalls that will be here to tempt you with their tasty treats:

Cavavan, Williams Brothers Ciders,  Ffwrnes Pizza, Grazing Shed, Pakora Pod, Fudge Pots, The Old Board Company, The Welsh Cheese Company,  The Welsh Confection, Blaenafon Cheddar Company, Ele’s Little Kitchen, Glam Lamb, Little Marakesh, Meat and Greek, Mr Croquewich, Stedman Brothers,  The Queen Pepiada, Tram Dogs Street Food, Little Grandma’s Kitchen, Coity Bach and Oasis.

The Museum will stay open until 7pm on Saturday 7^th, allowing visitors to enjoy a little more of the festival atmosphere.

St Fagans National Museum of History was recently announced as Art Fund Museum of the Year 2019 - the most prestigious museum prize in the world.

In October 2018, St Fagans National Museum of History completed the biggest redevelopment project in the history of the Museum. This was made possible by funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Welsh Government and other supporters. St Fagans was awarded the largest grant ever given by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in Wales in 2012 to help tell the stories of life in Wales over 200,000 years and more.
