We are pleased to announce that, from 1st January this year, Museum’s Vice President, Dr Carol Bell, has become the Acting President of Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales. This follows Mr Roger Lewis’s decision to stand down from his role at the end of December 2022 in order to undertake a number of other public roles and projects.
Welsh Government will shortly run a process to recruit to the new permanent positions of Chair and Vice Chair, with Dr Bell’s term of office due to end on 30 September 2023.
Under Dr Bell’s leadership, the immediate priorities of the Board of Trustees and the Senior Executive Team will be to implement the Museum’s new Strategy 2030 and delivering on its commitments to the Welsh Government Programme for Government.
Statement from Dr Carol Bell:
“Amgueddfa Cymru has an exciting year in prospect, during which we will concentrate on operationalising our new strategy and progressing important new initiatives that feature prominently in the Welsh Government Programme for Government, especially Amgueddfa’r Gogledd. I am delighted to be at the helm, albeit briefly, at this time of great change and opportunity for the museum.”
