What might I do on a placement here?
- Shadow front-of-house staff – this could be welcoming visitors at the visitor reception or across the Museum with the Museum Assistants, or in the shop.
What will I gain from a placement here?
- Experience of working as part of a team in a supportive setting.
- Develop work-based skills such as communication, problem-solving and timekeeping.
- A confidence boost!
Do I need to speak Welsh to do a placement here?
- Not essential – but if you are a Welsh-speaker this would be a great opportunity to use or practice your Welsh.

- Public transport to the National Wool Museum is limited – you will need to consider how to get to this Museum.
- Placements are subject to availability, and we cannot guarantee a placement for everyone – but we will do our best!
To support people on a placement we:
- reimburse travel expenses to and from the Museum.
- provide any clothing that may be required for the role for example overalls, uniform, boots, etc.
- offer discounts in our cafés and shops.
- provide references at the end of the placement.
