To celebrate National Volunteers' Week,  we’re inviting you to 'have a go' at volunteering at the National Slate Museum by trying out some different activities!

GET INVOLVED IN RAG-RUGGING!

Thursday 1 June 1pm-4pm

Our Rag Rug volunteers meet regularly in the Chief Engineer’s house to help recreate rag rugs for our historic houses.

Come and see what they’re up to before heading over to our craft space to try for yourself.

You can spend as much or as little time as you want with us, everyone is welcome!

No prior experience of rag-rugging needed!

*Drop-in sessions. No booking needed!*

MAINTAINING OUR HISTORIC MACHINERY!

Wednesday 7 June     10am-12.30pm  or  1.30-4pm.

We have to regularly clean and oil the machinery on display in the Museum.

To celebrate National Volunteers' Week, we're inviting you along to help us!

Get up close and personal with our machinery to help us preserve the collection for future generations.

No previous experience necessary, training will be provided. Please ensure you're happy to get your hands dirty.

The session is scheduled to last for two and a half hours. This includes a health and safety briefing, kitting up and a short rest break in the middle.
