Event:Celebrating 150 years of the North Wales Quarrymen’s Union 1874-2024
Join us on Saturday, April 27 at the National Slate Museum, Llanberis, to honour 150 years since the establishment of the North Wales Quarrymen’s Union.
Professor R. Merfyn Jones will present a lecture: ‘The Quarrymen’s Union: 1874-2024’ at 1:30pm in the museum.
There will also be an opportunity to view original Union documents which are usually stored in the Caernarfon Archive.
At 3pm join us as we walk from the museum to Craig yr Undeb - Union Rock, with a special banner celebrating the history of the Union, created by students and school pupils from the area and participants in community workshops in Llanberis and Bethesda.
This lecture will be delivered through the medium of Welsh but translation will be provided.
Tickets are FREE but must be booked in advance by contacting (01286) 679095 or emailing archifau@gwynedd.llyw.cymru.
