Event:Museum on the Move: Bethesda

National Slate Museum
Finished

Whilst we are closed, our next step is to continue our story beyond the walls of the museum. While all the planning, renovation and refitting work take place – we want to make the most of this unique opportunity and we’ll be taking our people, our collections and our stories to partner locations at the heart of the slate story communities.

We will be looking at how the landscape and the quarrying industry have inspired creativity and art in Dyffryn Ogwen.

See our collection at Neuadd Ogwen, including a slate sculpture of Penrhyn Castle and a carved slate christening cup, and take part in a sketching activity at Llys Dafydd inspired by M. E. Thompson’s work (weather permitting).
