Event:Sugar Coated Screening - Perspective(s)
National Slate Museum
Finished
Join us at Penrhyn Castle to celebrate Jasmine Violet's artwork, Sugar Coated, that was created as part of the Perspective(s) project with the National Slate Museum.
There will be a showing of Jasmine's film, Sugar Coated, which is an exploration of the connections between the slate industry, the Penrhyn estate and Jamaica. There will also be an interview with Jasmine to understand the creative process behind the work, and a Q&A for audience members who have their own questions.
Audience members will be invited to take part in a creative workshop with sugar and glow in the dark pigment, as used by Jasmine in Sugar Coated.
Sugar Coated is a part of Perspective(s) which is a collaboration between the Arts Council of Wales and Amgueddfa Cymru - Museum Wales, which seeks to bring about a step change in how the visual arts and heritage sector reflects the cultural and ethnic diversity of our society. The project is supported by the Welsh Government as part of a collective effort to meet the culture and heritage goals of the Anti-racist Wales Action Plan.
