Event:Next Steps Tours - Hard Hat Visit

National Slate Museum

Most of our amazing objects have now been relocated safely to our Collections Centre and the Museum restoration and redevelopment works are now underway.

Join us for a special behind‑the‑scenes glimpse of our historic spaces as restoration and redevelopment work continues.

We’ll show you around the site and give you more information about what is currently and will be happening to these special spaces as part of the redevelopment.

The tour is FREE but spaces must be booked in advance here: Next Steps Tours - Hard Hat Visit | Museum Wales

PLEASE NOTE THAT FEBRUARY AND JUNE DATES ARE NOW SOLD OUT. SPACES ARE AVAILABLE FOR MARCH. CONTACT LOIS.ANNJONES@MUSEUMWALES.AC.UK IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE ADDED TO OUR WAITLIST.

This tour will take place indoors and outdoors on an active building site, where conditions may be cold and surfaces uneven, therefore visitors are required to wear warm clothing and appropriate footwear (for example; hiking boots). Unfortunately, the site is not currently accessible for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility. Attendees are asked to follow all safety instructions during the tour.

A member of staff will be present throughout the tour to ensure everyone’s safety and provide support if needed.

This activity is part of the National Slate Museum redevelopment project which is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund as well as support from Welsh Government, the UK Government via Cyngor Gwynedd as part of the Llewyrch o'r Llechi project, Welsh Government’s Communities Facilities Programme, Garfield Weston Foundation and other funders.
