Spring Bulbs for Schools

Plant bulbs in your school grounds to study climate change. Join this UK wide investigation and improve science and numeracy skills. All schools must apply by the end of July to take part in the following September. Free to all schools in Wales -spaces limited.

Bryn Eryr - Iron Age farmstead

St Fagans National Museum of History

The new Iron Age farmstead workshop. 

Find out about the daily life of our ancestors, how they built their round houses and how they lived. Take part in daily and seasonal activities such as drop spindling or grinding wheat.

Compare and contrast the clothes of the gentry with those of wealthy farmers, as modelled by four classmates. Discover more about Tudor life with a visit to St Teilo’s – our pre-Reformation Church (c1530).

Washday with Beti Bwt

Craft demonstrations

Craft people such as the blacksmith, miller, weaver and clog maker demonstrate their work to the public on certain days. If your group has an interest in a particular craft then you should check availability when making a booking.

The First World War Education Project

The National Library of Wales and National Museum Wales are leading a project to produce education resources for schools to commemorate the centenary of the First World War. As part of this project we are using items from the collections of both institutions to create digital teaching resources for Hwb.
