Come and discover some of the weird and wonderful depictions of animals, real and mythical, on objects in the Museum’s Archaeology collections. 

You will find out more about what these representations meant to people in the past.  

This visit will take you into the Archaeology Artefact Study Room where all new discoveries about our collections are made.

Booking Information 

  • The tour will last for approximately 60 minutes.  Please meet at the Ticketing Desk in the Main Hall.
  • The tour costs £8 per person.
  • The tour will be in the curator's first language which is English.
  • Due to the behind-the-scenes nature of the tour there will be some spaces which will require you to be in close proximity to other visitors and the curator.
  • Tickets are non-refundable, and no refunds or exchanges will be given to latecomers.
