Event:Painting Party: Family Paint Along

National Museum Cardiff

The first paint along event to kick-off 2026 - and it's all about hip hop!

We’re getting in the groove to coincide with our new Hip Hop Exhibition and inviting you to join us to unleash your inner freestyle artist. Our model this time – our new addition Bryn the Tiger!

Whether you’re passionate about painting, or fancy trying something new during the school holidays, this is a memorable event that the whole family can enjoy together.

Taking place in National Museum Cardiff’s beautiful Main Hall, this unique painting party is something you won’t want to miss this February half-term!

Make memories to cherish.  Everyone is welcome – so bring the whole family! (recommended age 6+).

Bryn the Tiger

Step into the rhythm of the wild with Bryn, the iconic Sumatran tiger from the National Museum Cardiff’s vertebrate collection. He’s not just a museum favourite — he’s a symbol of strength, style, and survival.

Join us for a freestyle paint-along where beats meet brushstrokes. Whether you're vibing to the rhythm or letting your creativity roar, Bryn’s stripes are your canvas.

Our family painting party is hosted by local artist Rachel Rasmussen.  She will guide you through step-by-step easy instructions, while painting along with you.
