Come join artists Rubie and Sophie Mak-Schram in the sculpture gallery for a listening party of Where the air (2025).
Where the air is a new artwork currently on display as part of To Shift a Stone. Just about audible, leaking through the doors of an adjoining gallery, Where the air is based on field recordings of parts of the museum that remain out of sight to most. Thinking about who has voice, and when voices can be heard, this hour-long composition will be fully audible for one day only, for people with lived experiences of racism, transphobia, sexism, ableism or other structures of oppression.
For this event, registration is essential.
If you have any access requirements, please email Kate Breeze on perspectives@museumwales.ac.uk to arrange support - there is a specific budget for access, which might include travel, carers, translating (including BSL), or the booking of wheelchairs etc. Access needs might be discussed in order to understand what’s feasibly possible, but we will not be requesting ‘proof’: we trust you know what you need to best be able to join us.
