Talk:Behind-the-scenes with the Portable Antiquities Scheme: History in your hands
The Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS) Cymru and Amgueddfa Cymru’s curatorial teams help identify and record archaeological objects found by the public, most commonly through metal detecting.
To date, over 100,000 artefacts have been recorded in Wales and have led to some of the most important archaeological discoveries of the millennium. On this behind-the-scenes tour, you’ll meet the Finds Liaison Officers and get a sneak peek at some of the most newly unearthed artefacts, learn how public finds are identified and researched, hear heartwarming stories of chance finds, and enjoy an exclusive look at awe-inspiring archaeological finds from Amgueddfa Cymru's collection that are not normally on display.
You'll even have the chance to handle real archaeological objects donated by members of the public and discover the amazing stories they reveal about Wales' past, from the Stone Ages to Tudor times!
