Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Teapot and cover, white earthenware with 'Creation' glaze, which is blue-grey in colour with uneven brown speckles, foot ring and squat, cylindrical body, distinct sharply sloping shoulder with upright, cylindrical neck, short upright, conical spout and circular loop handle, simple domed cover with deep flange and no knop; the body is decorated with the 'Sun' pattern, comprising a wide band of orange glaze, above which is a slightly narrower band of yellow glaze, the foot, shoulder and between the areas of coloured glaze are bordered with a hand-painted line of iron oxide, which has flown slightly into the surrounding glaze giving an uneven finish, the cover is decorated with a circle of orange glaze, bordered with iron oxide, the edge is embellished with a border of yellow glaze between two lines of iron oxde.
