Bronze Age Gold from Wales
Beach at Trouville
BOUDIN, Louis Eugène (1824-1898)
Boudin's hastily applied colours capture the holiday bustle of the beachfront at Trouville in north France. During Boudin's lifetime he had seen the town grow into a thriving resort with hotels, bathing pavilions, promenades and a casino. As he had encouraged Claude Monet to do in his younger days, Boudin was painting a visual 'impression' of the modern world around him.
