Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Coffee cup and saucer, Midwinter 'Fashion' shape, earthenware, the cup of a conical form with square, inset base, gently rounded sides and plain rim with angular loop handle, the saucer is square with rounded corners and edges, a low foot ring and gently curving sides with no discernible rim, square well; the cup is decorated on the exterior and handle with a matt black glaze, the saucer is transfer-printed with the 'Quite Contrary' pattern, comprising exploding stars in black, pink, grey and turquoise in three clusters, the cup has a turquoise glaze to the exterior.
