Cyfarthfa Iron Works seen from Cyfarthfa Castle, early 1870s. The blast furnaces and forges are on the right and the rolling mills on the left. In the right foreground are thatched haystacks to feed the hundreds of horses employed in the works and collieries.

Print on card mount. On reverse is printed coat of arms showing a dog with motto 'PERSEVERANCE' below and beneath this is signature Robert Crawshay.
