Cup and saucer

Cup, hard-paste porcelain, inset base, cylindrical sides, loop handle; around the exterior upper body a broad band composed of a border of red anthemions on a peach-coloured ground between two bands of Greek ornament in white on black grounds with gilt lines separating the different bands, a gilt line around the foot-rim, the interior of the cup and the handle painted in gilt. Saucer, hard-paste porcelain, inset base and flaring sides; around the sides of the well a broad band composed of a border of red anthemions on a peach-coloured ground between two bands of Greek ornament in white on black grounds with gilt lines separating the different bands, a gilt foliate motif to the centre of the well, gilt lines around the foot-rim and the exterior lip-rim. The saucer broken and repaired.
