Single cylinder, radiator cooled diesel engine, driving an alternator via three vee belts. Both mounted on a common base, fabricated from steel. Unit made by Lister & Co. Ltd., Dursley, Gloucestershire. Plant number - 8285LB Engine no. - CS83798. Specification - 9A1A37. R.P.M. - 1000. Alternator no. - 8S4Q299. Volts - 230. Cycles - 50. KVA - 5.6. KW - 4.5. Unit built in 1951. Colour - Green, black and red.

R.A. Lister & Co. were founded in 1867, making there first engine in 1909 and went on to become Britains most prolific manufacturer of I/c engines. Production of the 9-1 model (Lister's first diesel) commenced in 1929 and ended in 1963.
