Plate, soft-paste porcelain, 'duck egg' type with a pale greenish translucency, lustrous glaze with a slight grey-green tinge, irredescent around the enamels. Standing on a shallow foot, plain everted rim, painted in the centre with a purple and white hollyhock (Althaea) amid grasses, the rim decorated with a continuous band of hatched and shaded gilding, comprising fluted vases with conical covers alternating with arabesques, floriate scrolls and florets between two gilt lines. 2 pad marks by foot rim.
