Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Cutting drum

The drum is part of a double-ended electric coal cutting machine built by Eickhoff in the mid-1990s. Its design is based upon that pioneered by James Anderton under the auspices of the National Coal Board; it came into use from 1952, and came to account for 80% of all coal output cut in the UK.
