Cup form, stoneware, standing on a cylindrical drum base with a deep kick and protruding central boss, a pronounced horizontal line above the middle of the base, a cylindrical stem set into the top of the base and supporting the bowl, the bowl with a squared-off base, a pronounced undulating line just above the base of the bowl, the bowl turning in above its middle to the narrow elliptical rim, the whole glazed thickly in black and burnished with a textured finish.
