Waddle ventilation fan impeller vane

03/2010 - PM - This impeller is of the ‘’Open Running’’ type and would be situated outside of the main engine house. In construction it may be considered as a hollow disc, the 2 sides of which are strongly braced together by the 5 full length curved blades and 10 half length curved blades ( 2 between each full length) which are riveted to them. It is a single inlet type with air being pulled through the centre and discharged equally out of the out turned rims by the backward curving blades, having the same effect as an evasse. The load on every blade and on every moving part is therefore steady and unvarying. This in turn means that there is a complete absence of vibration which limits wear and tear and gives immunity from breakdowns and also it can be run at high speed with perfect safety.
