Great Mountain Colliery, photograph

Harry, Williams (Photographer)

Photograph captioned 'No. 1 Slant, Great Mountain Colliery, Tumble, Carmarthenshire. The miner's helmet has always been an important part of his protection gear. It has been a synbol of the danger of his occupation, a man who although working below ground, has had to guard himself against falling coal and stones.' Mounted on card. Made for the exhibition RECORDING WALES 3 in 1970/1971.
