S.S. RAVENSWORTH (painting)

Port side view of the S.S. RAVENSWORTH in rough seas. Signed bottom left.

The Ravensworth was built by Priestman’s of Sunderland in 1883 for Newcastle shipowners, but in 1898 she was sold to Harries Bros of Swansea. The Harries family were natives of the Fishguard area. The Ravensworth was eventually lost by collision during September 1917.
