H.M.S. UNDAUNTED. Originally built as a conventional destroyer and launched in 1943. She participated in the Normandy landings and took General Eisenhower (Supreme Allied Commander) and Admiral Ramsey off a grounded warship and on a tour of the beaches on D-Day. Joined the British Pacific Fleet in November 1944. Converted for anti-submarine defence frigate in 1952 and fitted with a helicopter flight deck for improved anti-sub capability.
