An Intertype machine (in use at the offices of the ‘’Western Mail’’ Cardiff), showing the keyboard by means of which the operator brings into position the matrices necessary for the whole line of type. The matrices are in the upper part of the machine and the casting apparatus in which the ‘slugs’ are made, is on the left, just above the operator’s arm.
